Zhu Ye (Chinese: 朱叶 Zhū Yè) is the former CFO of Quede Games and a minor antagonist in Link Click.
Appearance
Zhu Ye is a middle-aged man of average height and build. His customary outfit includes light brown trousers, dark suit jacket with lighter stripes, a grey vest, and a dark lilac collared shirt with a black tie. He has short brown hair and black eyes. He also wears a pair of spectacles with round frames, and a prominent wedding ring sporting a diamond.
Story
While late at work together with Emma one night, Zhu Ye calls her to his office in order to seduce her. Despite her trying to turn down his advances, he attempts to force himself on her, only stopped from doing so by an incoming call from Emma's mother. Emma pushes him away to answer her phone, angering him. Zhu Ye then reprimands her, and assigns her more tasks to be completed, before going home himself.
The next morning, Zhu Ye's wife barges in during a meeting, and angrily accuses her husband of having an affair with Emma. Zhu Ye denies this, and instead claims that it's Emma who's constantly badgering him, aggravating his wife further. When she slaps Emma hard enough to make her fall to the ground, he moves to pacify her, however.
Soon afterwards, Zhu Ye is arrested as the data showcasing his company's criminal activities is exposed, due to the efforts of Cheng Xiaoshi, and Lu Guang. He is seen shortly in a prison later, where he is harassed by the other inmates.
Personality
Zhu Ye is a devious man, who is mostly interested in his own benefit. Despite appearing competent in his work, he comes off as somewhat sleazy and shifty. He is, after all, not overly concerned with laws or regulations, carrying no guilt over committing a financial fraud or paying people to silence. He also isn't particularly loyal, attempting to hit on and then forcibly kiss Emma despite being a married man. Later, when accused of adultery by his wife, he tries to shift the blame onto Emma rather than take any responsibility for his actions. Same kind of shrinking from responsibility can be seen in the way he justifies committing the bank fraud: he views it as solely a petty family dispute between Liu Jing and Liu Min, not considering it something that the law or he himself should get involved in.
