Time Photo Studio (Chinese: 时光照相馆 Shíguāng Zhàoxiàng-guǎn), which is also referenced "Lighttime" in English translations, is a photo studio located in an unnamed metropolis. It was formerly known as the Hero Photo Studio (Chinese: 英雄照相馆 Yīngxióng Zhàoxiàng-guǎn).
Overview[]
The noun shíguāng, which is both seen in the name of the photo studio and the title name of the series, comes from the combination of Cheng Xiaoshi’s and Lu Guang’s given names. Cheng Xiaoshi’s given name is 小时, a word meaning "hour." The final character of his name can be combined with Lu Guang's given name 光, meaning "brilliance." to form the word 时光 (shiguang), which also means "time" and is associated with both past memories and flowing time.
Inconsistencies[]
The door in the hallway connecting to the Living Room, which is believed to be bathroom[1], is missing in several scenes throughout the donghua. This is the room Lu Guang was hiding in as Liu Min was being lured into the darkroom to be trapped.
Live Action Differences[]
In the live action adaptation, while nearly identical structurally, the studio feels much more lived in than its donghua counterpart. Cheng Xiaoshi's personal items and camera equipment are scattered throughout, seemingly unorganized. He has shelves full of random sports memorabilia, anime merchandise, and various paintings and picture frames sitting on the floor. An extra room was added to the back of the living room, where a photo studio room was set up for the business.
